“How Digital Transformations Impact Regional Ecosystem: The Case of Sofia” was Dr. Vassil Kirov’s BEYOND4.0 presentation at the “Regional Development and the Factors of Success: Education, Economy and Social Policy in the Regions” conference organized by the Institute for the Study of Societies and Knowledge at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Sofia. More than 80 people attended the event and listened to the key note speeches of Mariya Gabriel, EU Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society and Prof. Wolfgang Schuster, European Foundation for Education and former Mayor of Stuttgart, Germany and of several Bulgarian researchers. The lively discussions focused on the need for smart specialization, managing the digital transformations and the skills imperative with researchers, policy makers, including Ms. Zornitza Rusinova, Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Policy and Ms. Karina Angelieva, Deputy Minister of Science and Education and social partners.
